Am I exempt from charges?
Under the NHS you could be entitled to free treatment or partial exemption if you are:
under 18 years of age.
aged under 19 and still in full time education.
an expectant mother or have a child under the age of one.
receiving income support, income based job seekers allowance or Pension Credit guarantee credit.
named on a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate.
If you are in receipt of any of these benefits you will need to show evidence to the reception staff before your treatment commences. Please ask at reception if you are unsure.
Where can I park?
There are several parking spaces outside the dental practice. Parking is only available for ONE hour between the times of 9.15am and 4.30pm. All cars must obtain a 1 HOUR FREE PARKING ticket from the ticket machine. However, you may park between 8 am and 10.15am without any charge outside the practice as long as you obtain a FREE parking ticket. For example, a free parking ticket obtained at 8.20am will show you are allowed to park outside the practice until 10.15am. Likewise, you can park from 3.30pm until closing time with the 1 hour free parking ticket.
Other parking is available on the main visitors car park. Pay and display tickets are required to be displayed on vehicles on the vistors car park between 9.15am and 4.30pm weekdays. No ticket is required for this car park outside of the times 9.15am - 4.30pm
Parking charges apply as follows:
30 Mins (Free), must obtain ticket
2 Hours (£2.00)
4 Hours (£4.00)
All Day (£7.00)
University security will fine any cars not displaying the correct ticket.
Do you open outside normal working hours?
We are open until 7.30pm every Monday. There are some appointments from 8.00am
I have had a mouth ulcer for a few weeks. What should I do?
You should arrange an appointment with your dentist if you have any sores, irritations, lumps or thick patches in your mouth, lip, or throat. During the appointment, we will carry out an oral cancer examination which is painless and quick during which we will check your face, neck, lips, and entire mouth.
